SAN DIEGO (April 16, 2024) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today released the findings of its new Generation Enablement Report: The Rise of Enablement’s Influence. Hundreds of business leaders were surveyed to understand their enablement strategies, challenges, and go-to-market (GTM) processes. The survey explores how attitudes and actions vary across Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. And while opinions differ on adoption, use, and effectiveness, one thing is clear: enablement’s influence is growing worldwide, and so is that of its leaders.

According to the report, 93% of enablement technology users say that the desire for strategic, effective enablement has increased over the last three to five years. And it’s no wonder why: 85% agree the technology is integral to weathering difficult economic times. Not to mention, 89% of enablement technology users say it gives their team a competitive advantage, and 88% say it enhances their job satisfaction.

Despite these benefits, sentiment toward adopting new technologies varies by generation. In particular:

  • Generation Z: These employees are the most open to new technologies, with 72% of respondents reporting no resistance to adoption from members of Gen Z on their team. Yet, they also responded with the lowest enthusiasm towards artificial intelligence (AI). When asked about their organization’s likelihood to invest more in enablement due to the promise of AI, only 85% of Gen Z said yes. While this is a healthy majority, it is noticeably lower than other generations.
  • Millennials: Approximately one-third of U.S. respondents believe Millennials struggle to some degree with adapting to new technology. However, opposite of their Gen Z counterparts, Millennials seem the most optimistic about AI in the workplace, with 82% viewing AI as a virtual partner to them and 92% increasing their enablement spend due to the promise of AI.
  • Generation X: Despite being seasoned professionals, Gen X encounters technology adoption challenges with 55% of survey respondents noting Gen X’s resistance to new technology. Gen X is challenged by gaining executive support when introducing new tools to their teams, being 26% more likely than average to report a lack of executive buy-in when implementing tech. This generation also leads the pack in leveraging enablement analytics to make data-driven decisions.
  • Baby Boomers: While often known for being resistant to change, Baby Boomers are increasingly recognizing the importance of enablement tech. Notably, 68% of all respondents reported that Boomers have high resistance to new technology, yet they are 22% more likely than average to express a preference for companies utilizing enablement tech. Boomers were also most likely to agree that enablement is considered a strategic initiative at their company.

“In an era defined by rapid technological advancement and evolving workplace dynamics, the demand for enablement continues to skyrocket,” said Paige O’Neill, Chief Marketing Officer, Seismic. “No matter the generation, it is clear enablement holds the keys to the most significant challenges we see today: engaging customers, scaling GTM teams, adopting new tech, improving productivity, and integrating AI-powered workflows. Moreover, the data in our latest report shows that enablement helps bring people together and is crucial for fostering an agile, innovative workforce.”

The report also indicates that enablement continues to explode in usage and investment, with the majority (89%) of respondents using enablement technology at work. While sales and marketing executives rely more on enablement tech compared to other departments, with usage at 64% and 58% respectively, this technology is no longer reserved only for those teams – nearly all (97%) surveyed companies using enablement tech have deployed it across multiple departments. This trend is expected to intensify in the coming years, as 79% of respondents plan to allocate additional funds to expand enablement programs and functions, while 59% aim to implement enablement tools in additional departments.

“Technology, enablement or otherwise, is only as good as its adoption,” said Patricia Peral, Senior Director of GTM Enablement, Beeline. “As enablement leaders, one of our core responsibilities is to ensure that those who we expect to benefit from any new technology understand both how to use it, and the value of using it – no matter their generation. Additionally, we must ensure that we enable on tools not only at launch, but continuously, as people learn and adopt at different times in their journey.”

SAN DIEGO (February 27, 2024) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today announced its Winter 2024 Product Release with advancements in generative AI, Seismic for Meetings, and Digital Sales Rooms (DSRs). In an increasingly competitive market, connecting with buyers quickly, efficiently and with a personalized touch is crucial for go-to-market success. Seismic’s new product enhancements empower reps to provide a better customer experience from the onset of a deal through to signature.

Seismic Aura Copilot gains new intelligent features
Aura Copilot, Seismic’s generative AI-powered assistant, continues to expand with new capabilities across the four innovation areas in Seismic’s AI roadmap: discover, create, automate, and advise. With the help of AI-powered Page Authoring, enablement teams can create highly effective playbooks for product launches, sales plays, and industries in minutes. The solution also customizes tone, translates content into different languages, and fixes grammatical errors to ensure playbooks are deeply personalized for their audiences. Not only does this save hours of production time, but sellers also benefit from higher-quality, relevant content.

Sellers can use Aura Copilot’s generative search capabilities to transform how they search for content, answers and insights. This reimagined approach to search allows sellers to interact in natural language and get instant answers in a personalized layout, and generates tailored summaries from verified sources to accelerate sales cycles and increase rep productivity. For example, they can ask a question about a product feature and receive a tailored answer that includes persona- or industry-specific insights along with detailed product functionality.

Seismic LiveSocial, which empowers client- and customer-facing teams to engage buyers purposefully and proactively on social media, is also getting an AI-powered boost. Sellers can use new AI-powered capabilities to create personalized comments and discussion topics that amplify buyer engagement across social media.

Customers are already seeing significant results from enablement, and are investing to accelerate those benefits. Global fintech firm Revolut saw a 78% increase in seller efficiency after deploying Seismic, as well as 28% more profit generated per seller.

“Seismic’s impact has increased our quarterly quotas, and our team continues to overachieve on those targets. We are seeing huge revenue impacts and know that Seismic plays a big part in that,” said Chris Prudente, Global Head of Sales Enablement at Revolut. “Looking forward, I’m most excited about the product enhancements that have recently come out around generative AI. What that can do for our sellers in the platform and for my sales enablement team when creating content will be a game-changer.”

Improve meeting preparation and follow-ups with Seismic for Meetings
Seismic for Meetings already transformed how sellers prepare for, present and follow up on meetings — saving countless hours every week, resulting in more impactful meetings and higher close rates. New enhancements include the ability to set up and preview meeting content prior to the live customer interaction, as well as the ability to intelligently highlight pricing and commercial discussions in the meeting summary. When the meeting is over, sellers can add the full recording directly to a DSR to keep all content in one place, delivering a seamless and memorable client experience.

Streamline go-to-market processes with DSR Templates
Now viewed as a must-have seller tool to increase deal sizes and win rates, Seismic is upgrading DSRs to increase scalability for sellers and marketers alike. Whether using DSR Templates for a new product launch, event invitation, or engaging with a prospect in a new industry, sellers have a repeatable, scalable, and collaborative way to engage buyers.

Case in point: professional services provider OneSource Virtual has increased its average deal size by 29% and decreased new rep ramp time by 47% thanks to Seismic’s DSRs and other products across the Seismic Enablement Cloud:

“We are big users of LiveSend and Digital Sales Rooms, and we love the excitement that we’re building around Digital Sales Room templates,” said Nicole Ward, Senior Director of Revenue Enablement, OneSource Virtual. “We recently launched Seismic Content for everybody on our go-to-market team, and it’s been a really great enhancement to our organization.”

“Our Winter 2024 Product Release strengthens our suite of AI capabilities with new tools to help organizations execute more intentional enablement and drive impactful change,” said Krish Mantripragada, Chief Product Officer, Seismic. “Last year, more than half of our new capabilities were driven by our Voice of the Customer program. We’re proud to build on that momentum with a number of customer-driven updates in this release, and to see that customers are already improving productivity and growing revenue as a result.”

“In our ever-changing industry, especially with the artificial intelligence boom, Seismic must have the right leadership in place to ensure we are ahead of the latest compliance and legal standards. That’s why I’m excited to see Celaena step into her expanded role as GC,” said Doug Winter, cofounder and CEO, Seismic. “Celaena leads from the front and has made invaluable contributions to our organization thus far. “Seismic’s commitment to excellence and passion for our customers make it a special place to work, and I’m grateful to Doug, Seismic’s leadership team and the board for the opportunity to be part of Seismic’s story,” said Celaena. “I look forward to continuing to partner with the Seismic team, our customers, and our stakeholders to further Seismic’s position as the global leader in enablement.”

SAN DIEGO (October 24, 2023) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today announced the general availability of Seismic for Meetings, the latest major product innovation that will instantly change how customer-facing teams prepare, present, and follow-up on meetings.

One great meeting can be the make-or-break moment of a deal. But today’s sales teams are tasked with so much pre-, during-, and post-meeting work – from preparing slides and personalizing content, to presenting and conversing, taking notes and tracking follow-up items, switching between various files and materials, and driving the conversation toward a deal – that meetings can quickly become inefficient or worse, a lost opportunity. Plus, enablement and marketing teams have limited visibility into meetings and find it difficult to understand if their efforts are actually working, such as if sellers need more targeted training or if their content is resonating with buyers. With Seismic for Meetings, sellers enjoy a seamless, connected, and AI-powered experience so they can focus on what matters most: the customer on the screen in front of them.

Seismic for Meetings makes the entire go-to-market organization more efficient and effective, helping to decrease sales cycle length, increase pipeline, and close more deals:

  • For sales teams, Seismic for Meetings streamlines how reps prepare, present, and follow up on meetings right from where they already work – the Seismic Enablement CloudTM. Seismic for Meetings simplifies the meeting prep process of gathering content, personalizing for the customer, collaborating with teammates, and more. Then in a single click, reps can prepare a “playlist” of content to present. Following the meeting, they can share those materials with the customer in a digital sales room, share meeting recordings, and view AI-generated meeting summaries and next steps.
  • For enablement teams, they now have end-to-end visibility of all buyer engagement touchpoints, allowing enablement pros to better train and coach reps, target learning and training reinforcement, scale best practices from top performers, and measure the impact of enablement programs via AI-powered insights dashboards.
  • For marketing teams, Seismic for Meetings goes beyond what was said in a meeting to what was presented, allowing marketers to understand true content performance at a granular, slide level. AI-driven insights also reveal the specific keywords, topics, and questions asked, enabling them to drive smarter customer-facing content.

“Customer meetings will never be the same after Seismic for Meetings,” said Krish Mantripragada, Chief Product Officer, Seismic. “We are very excited for the general availability of this game-changing product. It not only reduces the workload on the seller, empowering them to lead better meetings and close more deals, but it also illuminates the black hole of meetings for enablement and marketing teams. Seismic Aura’s AI-driven insights allow them to drive better content, proactive enablement, and more focused training.”

Launching as part of Seismic’s Fall 2023 Product Release, Seismic for Meetings is compatible with leading web conferencing tools, including WebEx, Zoom, and coming soon, Microsoft Teams.

“We’re excited to start using Seismic for Meetings to help boost the productivity of our GTM teams and increase engagement with our customers. Plus, the AI-powered insights will help ensure we are continually improving on our processes and content, and further maximize our investment in Seismic,” said René Hefner, Head of Sales Enablement at Grab.

SAN DIEGO (October 19, 2023) Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today released the findings of The State of AI in Enablement: 2023 Report. More than 600 full-time employees in a sales, enablement, or customer success role at the management level or above in the United States were surveyed, with findings indicating AI-powered enablement technology is a game changer for businesses looking to quickly and efficiently drive revenue growth as they continue to weather the economic storm.

The report found that go-to-market (GTM) leaders expect investments in AI to pay off in dividends, as 85% of respondents believe the fusion of AI and GTM strategy will lead to revenue growth for their organization. Among this group, leaders predict an average of 23% growth will be directly attributed to AI utilization over the next five years. The report also found that the majority of GTM leaders use enablement technology, and of those, 84% say that it’s mission-critical to achieving revenue goals. So it comes as no surprise that 89% of those who use the technology already have plans to further invest in 2024. These leaders anticipate enablement budgets to increase by 19% next year – a decision they largely attributed to the significant advancements in AI. What’s more: 93% agree that advancements in AI – and specifically the ways they can bolster enablement efforts – are a major driver for their company’s increasing investment in enablement technology going into next year.

However, the impact will not be immediate – overcoming challenges, driving the adoption of new tech, and seeing results takes time. Over half (66%) of GTM leaders who have deployed AI tools report that they encountered initial hurdles before eventually realizing positive outcomes. Notably, 51% say that implementation and adoption are their greatest areas of concern in regard to using AI in enablement, which is why enablement tools like Seismic are critical to help facilitate seamless integration within a business’s revenue operations. But these hurdles certainly haven’t prevented the march toward progress, with 83% reporting they would like to deploy more AI solutions for their team within the next 12 months.

“The past year has been wrought with market challenges, which makes AI-powered enablement technology more crucial for business success than ever before,” said Doug Winter, CEO and cofounder, Seismic. “The proof is in the pudding: When an organization’s enablement efforts are streamlined with AI technology, it drives greater GTM efficiency, operational optimization, and better buyer experiences – all of which translate into a stronger bottom line. At Seismic, we are leading the charge to define the future of AI-powered enablement and look forward to working closely with our customers and partners on this endeavor.”

Additional key report findings include:

  • In 2024, a significant majority (93%) of GTM leaders who intend to boost their investment in enablement technology attribute their decision to the significant advancements in AI
  • In fact, over half (54%) of GTM leaders say their organization already uses AI-powered tools for sales enablement
  • The three top functions that GTM leaders are leveraging AI-powered enablement tools for are:
    • 53% use it for content analytics
    • 50% use it for content distribution
    • 48% use it for learning and coaching
  • And businesses are reaping the benefits: 91% of those who have implemented AI tools say that their company has noted an increase in customer satisfaction since implementing AI into their enablement processes
  • However, implementation of AI technology takes time and does not come without challenges. Of those who faced challenges, 54% report integration issues, 41% report a lack of understanding, and 34% report security or privacy concerns

SAN DIEGO (October 17, 2023) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today announced its plans to publish a new book titled Tomorrow’s Enablement for Today’s Leaders: The Strategic Guide to Demonstrating Value and Driving Outcomes. Written by enablement industry veterans Irina Soriano and Meganne Brezina, Tomorrow’s Enablement for Today’s Leaders provides guidance, inspiration, and strategies that any leader needs to excel in today’s dynamic enablement landscape.

Enablement is one of the fastest-growing areas in business today. “Sales Enablement Specialist” was the sixth-fastest growing job title over the past five years, according to LinkedIn, and the number of LinkedIn users with the word “enablement” in their job title skyrocketed by 457% from 2017 to 2023. Whether readers are looking to build an enablement department from the ground up, or they’re already running a well-oiled team and want to improve their current approach, Tomorrow’s Enablement will inspire Enablement leaders to up-level their practice and scale a world-class enablement program that lasts. Full of practical knowledge, strategy and planning tips, easy-to-follow guides and checklists, and advice from Irina and Meganne’s deep experience, the book equips the next generation of enablement practitioners with all the tools they need to succeed.

“We’re overjoyed to share Tomorrow’s Enablement for Today’s Leaders with the world, as we envision this book serving as a guide, a trusted companion, and the key to unlocking endless possibilities in the world of enablement,” said Irina. “Whether in good times and bad, enablement has become a must-have for customer-facing organizations to grow and maintain business. Together, we aim to create a legacy of enablement excellence that transcends time and propels the next generation of enablement practitioners to new heights of success.”

“We hope that Tomorrow’s Enablement becomes the go-to guidebook for the modern enablement professional. It contains resources thoughtfully developed and extensively utilized by us throughout our enablement careers and within our own practice at Seismic,” said Meganne. “These tools have proven their effectiveness time and time again, and we encourage readers to use them as a practical and reliable framework to thrive in their own enablement endeavors.”

Notably, Tomorrow’s Enablement introduces the Enablement Value Chain (EVC), a strategic approach to drive cross-functional collaboration, elevate enablement experiences for field teams, and unlock value-based insights that continually enhance enablement efforts while consistently securing executive buy-in. The book’s foreword is written by Doug Winter, co-founder and CEO of Seismic.

“Meganne and Irina seamlessly blend their strategic vision for the future of enablement while providing tactical guidance for practitioners to follow along their journey. The innovation established in the EVC will help leaders build a foundational enablement program rooted in the needs of their business and focused on driving long-term success,” said Bryan Naas, VP of Sales Enablement, SOCi. “Tomorrow’s Enablement for Today’s Leaders is required reading for enablers who want to be a strategic partner in the transformation and success of their business.”

Tomorrow’s Enablement for Today’s Leaders will be available on the Amazon Kindle Store on October 23, 2023. SAN DIEGO (September 26, 2023) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today unveiled the company’s vision for generative AI in enablement, including a high-level overview of its AI roadmap and a new customer community for sharing AI best practices. Seismic’s AI innovation will help go-to-market (GTM) organizations be more efficient and effective by accelerating content development, automating meeting preparation, summarization and follow-up, and personalizing coaching at scale, resulting in faster sales cycles and more impactful delivery of revenue-generating initiatives and programs.

A new Seismic customer survey conducted earlier this month shows that organizations are moving forward rapidly with new AI projects. In the survey, customers shared how their businesses are investing in and implementing AI in their GTM processes and enablement programs. Key insights include:

  • 65% of respondents cite AI as a primary reason for increased enablement investment. Respondents view Sales Content Generation & Optimization as the most valuable use cases to explore and implement for their teams.
  • 52% are currently using or evaluating AI-powered tools within sales enablement processes, with 61% sharing that they are somewhat to very familiar with these tools.
  • Organizations do have some concerns when it comes to implementing AI within their GTM processes, with Security & Privacy concerns (50%) and Lack of Time & Internal Resources (45%) cited as the most common concerns.

“Enablement is a mission-critical function that turns company strategy into reality, and we believe generative AI has created an industry-defining moment for GTM and enablement teams. It will change everything about the sales process, from prospecting to meeting preparation, content and presentation development, follow-up, training and performance tracking,” said Krish Mantripragada, Chief Product Officer, Seismic. “At Seismic, we’ve already made significant investments in AI to power the entire Seismic Enablement Cloud and will continue to do so. As the market leader in enablement, Seismic views our role as defining how AI will shape and impact enablement for our customers and industry. To that end, we are creating a new, dedicated community to share ideas and learn from each other so we can all shape the future of AI-powered enablement together. Our customers can learn more on Seismic Community and next month at Seismic Shift.”

AI roadmap features innovations that will help shape the future of enablement

Seismic’s AI roadmap includes the following areas of innovation that will be detailed further at Seismic Shift in San Diego on October 23-26, 2023:

  • Discover: Sellers will receive targeted content, answers and information faster than ever before on the Seismic Enablement Cloud. Using free form, natural language dialog, sellers can search across a variety of trusted internal and external sources while respecting all content governance controls. Seismic will also curate content across these sources based on a user’s interests, territory, and other contextual information.
  • Create: Generative AI will power content creation across the Enablement Cloud. For example, rather than manually authoring learning content to test and reinforce concepts, an enablement practitioner can save time by using Seismic to create multi-modal learning paths, assessments and assignments of varying degrees of difficulty. Leveraging the power of Seismic’s existing dynamic content layouts, a sales rep can auto-create highly personalized content such as presentations and digital sales rooms based on the specific deal and customer context.
  • Automate: GTM teams will be able to streamline and even eliminate manual tasks, such as automating steps involved in meeting preparation, summarization and follow up. Enablement professionals can use Seismic to automate processes such as localization, tagging, and data analysis, as well as automate workflows using a natural language interface to complete manual tasks such as unpublishing certain types of content.
  • Advise: Sellers, managers, and enablement teams will receive personalized guidance and “next best action” recommendations at scale, unlocking new levels of effectiveness. Seismic will proactively analyze all the data across content, enablement, learning, and engagement from millions of interactions, allowing enablement teams to instantly identify skill and knowledge gaps and provide tailored training to accelerate development. Sellers will receive a personalized meeting preparation checklist based on the learning they’ve completed (or not), their skills, and the context of the upcoming conversation.

SAN DIEGO (August 8, 2023) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, has been named to the Forbes 2023 Cloud 100, the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures. Seismic ranked #40 on this year’s list.

“We’re excited to share this recognition with our team, customers, and partners around the globe,” said Doug Winter, CEO and co-founder, Seismic. “Along with our fellow Cloud 100 honorees, Seismic has weathered market headwinds and industry-shifting innovation over the last year. Our leadership and resilience are due to our focus on our customers, commitment to our people, and drive to keep pushing the enablement industry forward.”

The recognition follows a string of other accolades and organizational growth for Seismic, including:

More about the 2023 Cloud 100
For the eighth consecutive year, the Cloud 100 reviews submissions from hundreds of cloud startups and private companies each year. The Cloud 100 evaluation process involved ranking companies across four factors: market leadership (35%), estimated valuation (30%), operating metrics (20%), and people & culture (15%). For market leadership, the Cloud 100 enlists the help of a judging panel of public cloud company CEOs who assist in evaluating and ranking their private company peers.

“The companies of the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest private companies in this crucial tech sector,” said Kenrick Cai, the Forbes editor of the Cloud 100. “This year’s companies had to react rapidly to AI’s sweeping impact while contending with a market pullback. Their resilience puts them in elite company. Congratulations to each of the 2023 Cloud 100 honorees and the 20 Rising Stars who are showing early potential to one day join their ranks.”

“This year’s Cloud 100 list is one of the most dynamic in history. While the industry faced macro headwinds, the 2023 Cloud 100 winners displayed the innovation and resilience of the cloud economy and the combination of growth and efficiency that prove the power of the cloud business model. 95% of the honorees are forecasted to reach Centaur status — $100 million of annual recurring revenue — by the end of the year,” said Mary D’Onofrio, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “It is further exciting to see so many honorees at the forefront of the AI revolution, which we believe will continue to transform the cloud and propel the next wave of growth for many of this year’s winners.”

“The past year our industry has seen a generational step forward in innovation and with AI leading the charge, we are witnessing one of the most important platform shifts in decades,” said Paul Drews, managing partner, Salesforce Ventures. “The Cloud 100 list represents the best of the best and we’ve never been more excited about what the future holds, not only for the cloud but for the entire technology industry. We are proud of what these founders and their communities have already accomplished and look forward to seeing how they continue to transform the industry in the future.”
